Quotes
"You must be the change you wish to see in the world." - Gandhi

"For me there is only the travelling on paths that have heart, on any path that may have heart. There I travel, and the only worth-while challenge is to traverse its full length. I travel looking, looking, breathlessly..."
"The teachings of don juan - by Carlos Castaneda"

When we take time for exercise, a good nutritional diet, and time to consider our emotional well being, we are already making many of the lifestyle choices that will improve the quality of our life, the lives of people around us, and our environment.

In other words, when wellbeing becomes a major focus of our life, we naturally find that we have concern for ourselves, others, and the world in which we live. This concern then leads to actions which promote a better environment for all.

We are at our optimum when our mind and body is in good health. We can view the world from a balanced and centred perspective. From this point we can think clearly about our personal objectives. We can make plans, and consider how we can make these plans a reality. We can make decisions from a position of strength because our body and mind is tuned for optimum performance.

Ask yourself questions such as the following, and think about your responses when considering the quality of your lifestyle. There are no right or wrong answers - just personnal reflection:

1. What addictions, habits or routines do you have, and do they add value to your life?
2. Are conversations with friends, and work colleagues stimulating? Are you in a rut?
3. Are you interested in doing the "right" thing?
4. Are you working to hard? How much time do you spend with nature, or for yourself?
5. Do you spend too much time thinking about the past?
6. What plans do you have for the future?
7. Do you sacrifice your life for the well being of others?

A healthy lifestyle starts with you. There are many sources of information that promote a positive mental attitude. The first step is making the decision that you will make a difference, and realising that you can. Recognise that change does not happen overnight, be patent with yourself, and your environment.

You are the captain of your own ship.
