At around 1859 William Tindall purchased a plot of common ground from the charity known as "The Church Land Charity". Representatives from the charity were William Harland Doctor Of Medicine, Michael Hodsol Miller Reverend, John Hesp Gentleman , Thomas Weddell Surgeon , Samual Standidge Esquire , Edward Hopper Hebden Esquire. In coordination with William Barry Architect , John Coates Builder , John Emmerson Joiner , Thomas Temple Joiner , they proceeded to build five dwellings starting in 1860. These five dwellings are now 12, 14, 16, 18 and 20 Victoria Road.

Victoria Road
Before 1905 this would have been known as Hyde Park Terrace. Number 12 and 14 Victoria Road were joined together, and the shops of number 12 and 14 Victoria Road remained joined up until the 1960s. Number 12 Victoria Road was known as 1 Hyde Park Terrace...


These Properties had small gardens in the front, but the garden areas were turned into a public right of way foot path in 1946. The rear of the buildings still have back yards with and out buildings.
